Give The Stomach A Rest When Facing Life’s Challenges.

In our lives, days are not always the same. On some days we feel great, other times we have worries. Sometimes we are relaxed, other times we are tensed with worries on our mind.
In these conditions, friends, even the best foods will not be digested-at least properly that is. In addition, considering the many abominable food combinations most of our meals are prepared under and the general use of junk and unnatural substances for consumption, eating when dealing with a problem will quite simply lead to fermentation and poisoning of the body as these items will never be digested.
Strong emotions that characterize depression such as worry, fear, sadness and anger stop the rhythmic conditions of the stomach walls and dry out the stomach as well. As a matter of fact, too much joy and happiness will do likewise.
If you observe angry and frightened animals and even babies, they have a tendency to refrain from eating, until after a passage of considerable time, these emotional states have passed off.
Moreover, it is true that under stressful circumstances many civilized people refrain from eating and find in truth that they lack the desire for food, but it is also too often that most of us will eat large meals under these circumstances, which will be mostly disease forming foods to start with, that as a consequence, complicates or altogether halts an already retarded ongoing digestion.
From all the indications above, a depressed person simply needs a fast (abstinence from eating) not a feast. The body and the mind need all their physical, mental and spiritual energy to meet challenging circumstances and since much energy is actually required to digest, process and assimilate food, one actually could be adding fuel to a fire from eating (especially too much) when under stress.
Perhaps this is why in the Bible and as documented in other religious faiths, when most people in the olden days such as David, Esther and Paul, were facing trying times, they simply retreated to a place of solitude and abstained from eating.
Renowned hygienist, Albert Mosseri, explains it best when he says: “Life’s difficulties are not as overwhelming when the stomach is empty. Calm comes back and discouragement fades away. Enthusiasm is reborn and hope comes back. All the miseries will then seem less important then they first seemed.”
It may not be what would solve the problem at hand but it will help the mind to focus on fixing what the problem is, so friends as a tool for dealing with life’s challenges abstain from eating till the problem is solved. When you succeed at that, then it may be time to have a feast.

How To Get Flat Belly

So you have decided to get a flat belly? No, those late night infomercials about certain gadgets to help you get a flat belly do not work. Even performing a million sit ups and crunches every day will not get you the coveted six pack abs.
To get a flat belly, you will need to put in some work and know some science. Here some tips to help you achieve your goal and if you stick to it, you will find that not only will your belly get flatter, you will also lose weight from all parts of your body.
Correct eating habit and nutrition is the most important factor in getting a flat belly. You will have to control your blood sugar levels to lose body fat to do this, you will need to consume five to six meals small meals per day. Please note, I said small meals. For example, you can divide the portion of your three daily meals into 5-6 smaller meals. Simple as that.
Next step is to reduce your carbohydrate consumption to 50 percent or less from your meals. Most people eat too much carbohydrate and before their body could burn up the carbs for energy, they would have already been converted to glycogen and fat. However, you need not go to the extreme by cutting your carbs too drastically.
Consume your small meals every 2 to 3 hours. This is because when your stomach empties itself, your body will tend to conserve fat and by eating frequently, you will be controlling your blood sugar level to encourage fat loss and you will begin to lose weight gradually. However, if you are still not losing weight, then you are consuming too much calories and so if this happens to you, make your meals even smaller by cutting more carbs.
By the first week, you will probably lose between 4 to 5 pounds (about 2kg) of water weight. Subsequently, you should about 1 to 2 pounds per week. If you are losing more weight than that, then you are probably losing muscles too. So monitor your weight loss carefully. Now, if you are not losing 1 to 2 pounds per week, then reduce another 100 calories from your meals. Remember to abstain from sugar laden drinks such as soft drinks or coffee with cream and sugar as these drinks are chock full of calories.
You will need to be on this eating program for six days a week reserving one day as cheat day to reward yourself for keeping up with the regimen successfully. However, I am not in favor the cheat day because people tend to use it as an excuse to and over eat. You need decide for yourself whether you want to include a cheat day or not.
You may also want to to include a weight training program because for every pound of muscle you gain, you will burn 30-50 extra calories a day naturally. Part of your weight training program should include abdominal exercises to tighten up your abs to give you the flat belly look.
Lastly, set aside four to five days a week to perform cardio exercises for about 30-40 minutes. This is done to help you burn up more calories.
Is this flat belly program easy to follow? I will say it is not and that is why so few people succeed in getting have flat stomachs. However, it is definitely achievable if your motivation to have a flat belly is compelling enough.

Flat Tax, It Could Work!

With great expectations for the coming year, I have begun thinking about that great annual past time, the dreaded Tax Return!
Like so many other good citizens from this great country of ours, I will leave it to the very last moment to mail off this year’s tax return. Last year I promised myself that this year would be different. I would make a conscious effort to get them off before that last minute rush.
In this day and age, is this really the best system our great and wonderful leaders can come up with? After all, we now live in a world that allows a satellite, miles above us, to read a licence plate. We can get the worldwide web on our cell phone; download TV programs that we may have missed (or just want to save onto our iPods).
Our original tax laws were introduced in 1913; they were simple and very easy to understand. We had tax brackets ranging from 1 to 7 percent; a far cry from today’s levels. The IRS tax codes, regulations, and guidelines, now have well over 9 million words! It's no wonder there's so much confusion. Is there anyone out there who really understands this monster?
Let’s put this into some form of perspective:

Could life ever be that simple again? The real question here is, would our leaders really want us to understand what they were up to? And then, there are the lobbyists’. Oh well, the daydream was nice while it lasted.

Green Tea May Positively Effect Stomach Cancer

Stomach Cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the Western World. In fact, the American Cancer Society estimates that22,228 Americans will be diagnosed with stomach cancer during 2006. They also project that there will be an estimated 11,430 deaths from this type of disease. Therefore, the search for a cure for this disease has been a long standing one.
In the past, clinical researchers have hypothesized that drinking green tea may indeed inhibit stomach carcinogenesis, and a few case-studies with animals and human beings have successfully broadened this theory.
One landmark case study was conducted on humans in Shanghai, China from October 1991 to December 1993. This study is still considered to be the largest of its kind. During this study, 711 subjects and 711 controls (under the age of 80) were evaluated.
hey were all residents of the Hongkou district and Nanhui country and were selected from identical streets or communes and matched in gender and age (within three years). This created two nearly identical, homogeneous groups. By creating these groups, researchers ensured that their findings would not be impacted by any outside contributing factors.
During this study, researchers evaluated the types of tea used, strength and temperature of the tea consumed, age when habitual tea drinking began, total duration of drinking for each batch, frequency of new batches of tea leaves used per day, and number of cups brewed from each batch. Statistical analysis was then completed with conditional logistic regression.
Researchers found that habitual Chinese green tea drinkers (regardless of when they started drinking the tea) had a lower risk of stomach cancer than their non tea drinking counterparts.
They reasoned that the green tea may disrupt gastric carcinogenesis at both the intermediate and the late stages and that the major polyphenol in green tea extracts, also known as epigallocatechin gallate (ECGC), positively effects stomach cancer and also protects a number of organs in the digestive tract.
In 2004, a research team from Harvard Medical School worked on and expanded the premise of the Shanghai study. They reported that the epigallocatechin gallate (ECGC) in Green Tea impairs the growth and reproduction of cancer cells (SEG-1 and BIC-1) involved with Barrett’s Esophagus.
Barrett’s Esophagus is a condition in which the stomach throws back stomach acid due to impaired function and often leads to the destruction of the cells that line the esophagus which in turn, increases the risk of esophageal cancer.
Barrett’s Esophagus is a very serious condition often mistaken by sufferers as heartburn. This condition is frequently a precursor to esophageal cancer. Although one of the rarer forms of cancer, esophageal cancer is also one of the more deadly forms of cancer, with a five year survival rate of only 25 percent.
Harvard Medical School researchers found that exposure to ECGC (which is found in green tea) releases proteins which are known to help in repairing DNA damage. This finding has created even more interest in researching the effects of green tea and EGCC on cancer.
In other words, drinking Chinese Green Tea may be a healthy habit to acquire – one, that may prevent and lead to a positive effect on stomach cancer and those suffering from Barrett’s Esophagus.

Allergy Effects On The Kidneys, Respiratory System And Stomach

The kidneys:
The two kidneys are responsible for many vital functions. Briefly, they perform the complex task of extracting from the blood, used up proteins, minerals and other elements making up the toxic waste of the metabolic process. This residual material, together with waste water, is then passed in the form of urine, through to the bladder before being finally expelled from the body.
Allergy-caused overloading may cause the liver to deteriorate and lose its capacity to cope fully with its detoxifying duties. As a result, the toxins, left to circulate in the blood, will poison the body and cause damage to the kidneys. Recent studies have shown that kidney failure can be caused by overloading with food toxins. The respiratory system:
The respiratory system comprises the trachea (windpipe), the bronchials and the lungs. Air that we breathe passes through the trachea and bronchials into the lungs where it is used to oxygenate the blood. Victims of ecological allergies invariably suffer from chemical as well as food intolerances. Some of the more common chemical allergens are the hydrocarbon products, such as petrol and diesel fumes, pressure pack propellants, etc. When these substances are inhaled into the lungs they are absorbed along with oxygen into the bloodstream. To the allergic person, this ingestion through the lungs sets up the same allergic process as an allergy reaction, caused by eating an allergenic food. This view was also recently supported by the British Medical Journal. Dr Cranton said that the most likely causes were dairy products, yeast, wheat products, eggs and citrus fruit. He has found with people allergic to these foods, that once they have been removed from the diet, the coughing stops.
Milk and milk products are one of the commonest causes of food allergies. Often, the reaction is a general tendency for excessive mucus to form in the nasal and other respiratory passages. This, in turn, can lead to constant colds, sore throats, nasal catarrh and asthma - all by-products of an ongoing and debilitating food allergy.
The stomach:
The stomach is a simple, bag-like organ and is part of the alimentary canal. It lies between the esophagus and the small intestine. The upper end of the stomach connects with the esophagus, whilst the lower end opens into the doudenum, which is the upper part of the small intestine. The stomach serves as a storage place for food, enabling a large meal to be eaten at one time. It also produces hydrochloric acid and the enzyme pepsin, to digest the food partially.
There are a number of different foods that will irritate the mucous membrane lining the stomach. Highly spiced foods, extremely hot foods and alcoholic drinks can cause ulcers to develop in the stomach or duodenum. Another cause of stomach ulcers can be the regular ingestion of foods to which the person is allergic. It is interesting to note, that the Japanese have the highest rate of stomach cancer in the world, due to the high salt content in their diet.
Dr James Brennan, in his book, Basics of Food Allergy, says that some ulcers are actually a symptom of milk allergy. He discovered this after treating a patient of his who had a duodenal ulcer for over ten years. He found that, by putting his patient on a diet which excluded many of the allergenic foods, the ulcer symptoms disappeared within three days. One by one, various foods were then added back into the diet to see which food caused the allergy. When milk was added to the diet the patient suffered abdominal pain, vomiting and weakness. Once it was again removed from the diet the symptoms disappeared.
Dr Brennan went on to discover, by the same process, that his patient's ulcer was also inflamed by wheat and pork. Once these foods were permanently removed, the patient remained symptom free for sixteen years.
Other doctors have found that, after removing chocolate, coffee and other known allergenic foods from their patients diets, stomach ulcers have disappeared. Dr Albert Rowe, co-author of Food Allergy, has found that eliminating eggs from a person's diet can greatly assist ulcer conditions.
There seems no doubt that stomach and duodenal ulcers are yet another symptom of the chronic masked food allergy.

Weight Loss Tip #12: How Starving Your Body Can Make You Gain Weight

No, that title is not a typo.
One of the things that makes people not get the weight loss results that they want is that they may occassionally be starving their bodies.
There are two basic ways that this can happen. One is for it to be done inadvertently---like when you just get busy and forget to eat.
Another is when you purpose deprive your body of food to try and "speed up" your results.
Regardless of how it happens, either scenario in this case is equally damaging. Although you will decrease the calories that you take in which may lead to some short-term weight loss, the kicker here is that you will be slowing down your metabolism.
What this means is that after the starving is over, your body will hold onto the next meal you eat for dear life, expecting be be starved again.
If you allow starvation to become a habit, you will actually be contributing to your own weight gain in the future.
One of the main reasons that this is even possible is because of what happens to your body when it goes into starvation mode.
Many people are at least initially excited to see a few pounds drop off because they haven't even.
However, what they do not realize is that when the body is being "starved", it is burning muscle tissue at a very unhealthy rate. Since muscle weighs more than fat, the majority of weight being dropped during starvation may indeed be muscle.
This is very bad news, especially for women, who have a more difficult time building new muscle.
Muscle is actually one of the things that helps keep fat off in the first place because it literally burns fat 24 hours per day.
Now more than likely the weight will be gained backed because:
A) People who tend to starve themselves often lack the discipline to eat right and exercise regularly, and/or

In 1974, the U.S. FDA banned the use of HCG as a weight loss remedy, it is still allowed to be used as a fertility treatment. Therefore, if you live in the United States, you’ll find it difficult to get HCG shots for losing weight. There are supposedly a few clinics here in the U.S. that administer the shots for weight loss, but finding one will be time consuming. These clinics are few and far between and the shot regimen is expensive.
If you do choose to buy HCG from another country or black market source, please know that you are risking your health. I would recommend that you not take HCG on your own to lose weight, since you don’t know what kind of formulation you’ll be getting. You should only get the injections under a health professional’s care.
